PW — Recipe #11 — Oatmeal Whoopie Pies

I first made these whoopie pies back in April for my scrapbooking party.  I neglected, however, to tell you how incredibly awesome they are.

WARNING!!!  Do not make these oozy, chewy sandwiches unless you have other people to share them with.  Otherwise, before you know what’s happened, you’ll be wiping white frosting off your mouth and wondering where they all went.  And cursing me for the stomach ache and hours of extra cardio you’ll have to do to burn them off!

Luckily, I had a good reason for making these oatmeal whoopie pies.  I donated some of them to a dessert auction that took place at church last night.  The rest of them I will bring to MOPS on Friday and let the ladies enjoy them!  That way, I get my one (already had it yesterday) and don’t have to fight the temptation to eat more.

I guess I should tell you where to find the recipe, huh?  Just head on over to The Pioneer Woman’s blog and it’s right here.

Well, we have a big day ahead of us here.  Cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning!  Violet has begun dusting low furniture for me, putting her own laundry in the washing machine and is even working on her sweeping skills.  Now if I can only teach her how to clean the bathroom…  LOL

Hope you’re having a great week!  Thanks for stopping by and God bless!

  1. Mmmm, they look delicious. I guess I’ll sleep with the snakes & spiders so that I can try some of these delicious recipes you blog about! 🙂

I’m curious which filling did you go with? Filling #2?

    • Filling #2 is right! It is very good, but next time I’ll try the marshmallow cream. My research must be thorough, you understand.

No one says you have to sleep with the snakes and spiders! They’re on the other side of the house, anyway… BUT! You’re visiting in October and that means some Halloween decorations may come into play. Maybe I could craft tiny witches’ hats to put on the serpents’ heads. Use real spiders in my fake spider webs. You guys love Halloween, don’t you? I’ll make it memorable. Don’t worry. muahahaha!
