A Trio of Toddlers on a Trampoline

Yesterday Violet and I went on a playdate with our friends Isabella and Samantha.  It was very bittersweet for me, because in just over a week they will be moved and living in Pennsylvania!

I am very sad.  For Violet as much as for myself.  Maybe more.

Even though she is only two, Violet does consider Bella her friend.  She doesn’t understand that they won’t see each other again for a very long time.  If ever.

     Get a grip, Jennifer.

So anyway, we got together at Samantha’s house yesterday and spent several hours playing, running, yelling and just fooling around.

     The kids did, too.

I, of course, took a bunch of pictures.

Samantha’s house has a super-long second-story porch that has a roof over it and is absolutely perfect for kids.  We set up a little tent and some blankets for the girls and let ’em have at it.

Samantha is attempting a photo bomb. Not quite fast enough, Sam!

So, are you wondering what that is under Bella’s eye?  No, she is not bleeding from her right eyeball. (Whew!)  Someone left their Colorstay Lipstick on the bathroom counter and Bella decided to give herself a makeover.

Colorstay lipstick does, in fact, stay.

No matter how much you try to get it off.

     Just so you know.

At this point, Violet has been begging for at least an hour to go bounce on the trampoline.  I am not a trampoline lover (they scare me), but I decided that she could do it this time.  All I had to do was be a helicopter mom and constantly remind her to “Stay in the middle!!”

In my defense, the other two mothers were chanting the same mantra.

It took a few minutes, but Vi really has her bounce on now!

Oh yeah, the children are multiplying.  Lily is one of Bella’s neighbors.

The girls had a great time and no one was taken to the E.R.  No one required even a Band-Aid.

Now I can sit down and relax.

     …Where’s my drink?
