Scrapping: Red River Valley State Fair

Don’t let this blog post fool you.  I haven’t gotten to scrapbook in several days; this is a layout I completed before we went to Indiana.  I like it, though, so I’m going to show it to you.

These photographs are of my mom and her boyfriend, Ron, in 1962.  My mom’s family was big into horses — as you may have guessed from previous layouts I’ve shown you — and here they are showing some horses at the State Fair.

I over-thought the placement of the embellishments waaay too much on this one.  It took me twice as long as it should have, but at least I like the end result, right?  If it took that long and I still didn’t like it… well, then we’d have a problem.

The rub-ons are 7Gypsies, the star sticker is Jenni Bowlin and the button is Old Navy.  Ha!  Yup, I took it off an old pair of Violet’s cargo pants.

The bling is from Want 2 Scrap.  Gotta love those dollar deals at the Great Lakes Mega Meet!

I really like these border stickers.  The ruler is from Sticko and the lace border is Mrs. Grossman’s.

This is Violet’s creation — her first time playing with pom poms.  What should we name him?

    • You know what’s funny? I was on the phone with my husband this evening and we were telling him about the pom pom creature. With no coaxing whatsoever, Violet stated that it’s name is “poodle.” I didn’t even know she knew what a poodle was. So, Poodle it is.
