NEWSFLASH! Toddler Escapes from Children’s Penitentiary — May be Armed with Play-doh Scissors

If you ask Violet what her favorite color is, she very well may tell you that it is stripes.

She doesn’t really get the whole “favorites” thing yet, but stripes are certainly her go-to fashion choice.  This morning she ended up wearing not only her purple-striped shirt (I’m waiting for her to outgrow it already — she’s worn it 100 times at least!) but striped velour pants as well.  I’m surprised she didn’t insist on her striped socks to finish off the outfit.

I babysit my friend Samantha’s daughter two days per week while Samantha attends college classes.  Violet and I usually go to their house, which works out well since it is new and exciting for Violet and familiar for her friend.  Samantha has four daughters ranging in age from 8 years to 2 years old.  Needless to say, there is a multitude of toys for Violet to discover and play with.

Two weeks ago Violet discovered Play-doh.  She loves it!  We had a discussion today about how Santa needs to bring some Play-doh to our house on Christmas Eve.  I’ll send him an email.  Today Violet and her girlfriend played with the stuff for a very long time (I didn’t know toddlers had attention spans that long!) and I snapped a few pictures.

I am especially proud of Violet’s first attempt at using scissors.

Tomorrow there is nothing written on the calendar and I hope to finish up a craft project (or two).  I’ve started a couple new ones lately and need to finish something before I get [too] overwhelmed!
